DIFFERENT SUBJECTS

Within these two main sections, or Testaments, there are several other divisions, according to the subjects covered by the individual books .

There are:
OLD TESTAMENT

•   5 Books of Law
• 12 Books of History
•   5 Books of Poetry
•   5 Books by Major Prophets (Longer)
• 12 Books by Minor Prophets (Shorter)

NEW TESTAMENT

•   5 Books of History
• 14 Epistles (Letters) to named churches
•   7 Epistles to general readers
•   1 Book of Prophecy.

You can see that there are all sorts of subjects covered. Just like we can go to an ordinary library to FIND OUT, we can find out lots of things from the Bible library.  

There are TRUE LIFE STORIES about farmers and bandits . . . poor shepherds and fabulously rich kings. . . fierce battle and joyful parties . . . shipwrecks and islands . . . adventurous journeys and awesome miracles. 

There are LAWS to help us live right.

There are beautiful SONGS and POETRY and LETTERS - all to help us think about God and to live right.
